St. Alban’s is involved in a number of Outreach ministries and believes strongly in serving our local community and our wider world as part of God’s call at baptism to “seek and serve Christ in all persons” and to “strive for justice and peace among all people.” We invite you to prayerfully consider getting involved with one of our ministries as we are always in need of an extra hand!
Refugee Ministry St. Alban’s collects monthly donation items (clothing, paper goods, etc.) to assist refugees in our area and distributes needed items every week. We have partnered with the Episcopal Refugee Network to provide fresh food, education, assistance, and translation assistance to local refugees every Tuesday morning in our Parish Hall.
Kenya Kids We support the efforts of one of our former parishioners, Hannah Ngige, who returned to Kenya and founded a program to feed, clothe and educate local Kenya children that had been orphaned. The congregation provides significant ongoing spiritual and financial support for the program.
Homeless Meals at Wells Park Every other month,St. Alban’s collects food and prepares a meal to feed the hungry in our city. We meet on Saturdays at 3pm at Wells Park. After set up we open with a time of prayerful devotion and then serve a large meal and offer other items such as toiletries or clothing for those in need.
Drop In Ministry We regularly assist those who drop in to our church office who are in crisis and need assistance with food or community referrals. Donations are always welcome and needed!
Thanksgiving Baskets During the Thanksgiving holiday St. Alban’s prepares food baskets and vouchers for designated families at our preschool and church.
Recovery Groups Almost every night of the week our Parish Hall is open for use by recovery groups and other community meetings: Mondays: NA at 7:30pm, Tuesdays AA at 7:00pm, Fridays: NA at 6pm & 8pm, Sundays: NA at 5pm.
