Bishop James Mathes will celebrate a special Evensong at St. Paul’s Cathedral at 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2012, followed by a reception in the Great Hall. Save the Date: Amazing Journeys
The second annual gala for the Episcopal Refugee Network will be Saturday, May 5 on the enchanting Berkeley, the Victorian steam ferryboat berthed on Harbor Drive at the San Diego Maritime Museum. Waddy Scholarship
The Annual Waddy Scholarship auditions for young talent in music and speaking will again be held this year at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 5th and Nutmeg Streets, in San Diego on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Students between the ages of 8 and 12 are invited to participate. A brochure with an application form may be found with Mother Lark. Scholarship awards in past years have ranged from $50 to $350. Deadline for application to received is Thrusday, May 10.
Call for Artists: Fourth Annual Quilt Exhibit
This year's art quilt exhibit will feature work that depicts "Romancing the Mandala," and that are symbolic of the universe, humankind, science, therapy, New Age, chakras, sacred geometry, tantric wisdom, mystical visions, etc. The exhibit will be on display May 20 - June 18. EpiscoProm
All youth of the diocese are invited to attend the EpiscoProm at St. Bartholomew's, Poway on May 25,7pm - 10pm. It's a great big fun party spun by DJ Sam Hay of Grace, San Marcos with loads of diocesan friends dressed to the nines. For more info, contact Greg Tuttle.

Episcopal Community Services will celebrate its 85th Birthday on Friday, June 1 at Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. A superstar committee chaired by Terri Mathes is busily planning what will surely be a fun and unique event! We are requesting donations of prizes for our opportunity drawing: handcrafts, theatre tickets, museum passes, vacation getaways, restaurant certificates, sporting event tickets and much, much more! Camp Stevens
Camp Stevens has many opportunities. From weekend gardening workshops to retreats to summer camps for children and teens. Check out the activities at www.campstevens.org or the brochure in the foyer.
Scholarships are available for children between the ages of 6 and 17. These scholarships will pay for 50% of the camp. If interested in a scholarship please contact the office for an application.
Sonrise National Park July 16 to 21, 2012
VBS on the Circle – a combined ministry for children and youth of St. Alban’s and First Presbyterian Church – will take place July 16 – 20, with an all church picnic and final VBS musical performance for families and friends on Saturday, July 21.
VBS is open to all children age 3 to 9th grade. Please watch for more information, and a list of ways you can help keep our cost down by making a financial donation, or providing goods and/or services for this annual ministry to children.

Homeless Meal in the Park

Plastic Grocery Bags
Refugee Ministry is in need of plastic grocery bags in good condition for the Tuesday food distribution. Please bring your empty bags to church and leave them in the big basket in the Narthex.
Refugee Ministry Collection for April: 24-32 oz. bottle of Cooking Oil
Thank you to everyone who donated last month. In an effort to stock up on needed items for the refugees in our community, St. Alban's holds a drive each month requesting different items. Please place donations in the large basket in the foyer. Items are distributed every Tuesday morning in St. Alban's Parish Hall to the refugee community.
